PART 1: Audition
About the repertoire
During your practical instrument/voice audition you show your artistic and technical level. The repertoire consists of a (maximum) 25-35’ program which is stylistically diversified. At least one composition should be contemporary music, preferably written after 1950.
With the submission of your application documents, you will also upload your program scores in PDF .
Program overview for candidates in classical music:
· Your name and date of birth
· For each piece:
• Full name of the composer with date of birth (and death)
• Full name of the composition, number of opus (if available) and date of the composition (if known)
• The part you prepared for this exam
• Example: Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992): Catalogue d’Oiseaux (1956-1958), Livre 2 “Le Traquet Stapazin”
Compositions with obliged piano accompaniment or piano reduction (concerti), have to be performed with piano accompaniment.
If an accompanist is required, you need to indicate this in your application documents. If you have not done this at the submission deadline, we cannot guarantee that we can provide an accompanist for you. If your repertoire is of such nature that the accompaniment cannot be done by our regular team of accompanists, the candidate is required to arrange the accompaniment him/her/Xself.
PART 2: Interview
After your audition, there will be an intake (interview) with the Orientation Committee about your motivation, artistic discipline, communication skills and knowledge of the specific domains of performing music. The Orientation Committee consists of several teachers and experts in the field you are applying for. The Orientation Committee makes the final decision on enrolment in the master course.
Following a motivated request by the candidate during the application procedure, the orientation committee may consider to allow a video recording of your program instead of a personal appearance for the audition and to allow the interview to be done via an online platform.
Possibility to audition online Candidates in Classical Music may opt to provide an online video audition, if they cannot make it to the audition in person. Please make sure that your video complies with following standards:
- video and audio must be of decent quality ! Please pay attention to the acoustics of your recording.
- video must be a live captation in which the jury members can clearly see you playing your instrument !
- audio must be the audio from the video performance. Edits, overdubs, additional mixing ... are not allowed.

DEEL 1: Auditie
Over het repertoire
Tijdens je praktische instrument-/stemauditie toon je je artistieke en technische niveau. Het repertoire bestaat uit een (maximaal) 25-35' programma dat stilistisch gediversifieerd is. Minstens één compositie moet hedendaagse muziek zijn, bij voorkeur geschreven na 1950.
Bij de indiening van uw sollicitatiedocumenten uploadt u ook uw programmapartituren in PDF .
Programmaoverzicht voor kandidaten klassieke muziek:
- Uw naam en geboortedatum
- Voor elk stuk:
- Volledige naam van de componist met geboortedatum (en overlijden)
- Volledige naam van de compositie, opusnummer (indien beschikbaar) en datum van de compositie (indien bekend)
- De partij die je voor dit examen hebt voorbereid

Composities met verplichte pianobegeleiding of pianoreductie (concerti) moeten met pianobegeleiding worden uitgevoerd.
Indien een begeleider verplicht is, dient u dit aan te geven in uw aanvraagdocumenten. Als u dit niet heeft gedaan op de uiterste datum van indiening, kunnen wij niet garanderen dat wij een begeleider voor u kunnen regelen. Indien uw repertoire van dien aard is dat de begeleiding niet door ons vaste team van begeleiders kan worden verzorgd, dient de kandidaat de begeleiding zelf te regelen.
DEEL 2: Gesprek
Na je auditie volgt een intake (gesprek) met de Oriëntatiecommissie over je motivatie, artistieke discipline, communicatieve vaardigheden en kennis van de specifieke domeinen van het musiceren. De Oriëntatiecommissie bestaat uit verschillende docenten en deskundigen op het gebied waarvoor je solliciteert. De Oriëntatiecommissie neemt de uiteindelijke beslissing over de inschrijving voor de masteropleiding.
Op gemotiveerd verzoek van de kandidaat tijdens de sollicitatieprocedure kan de oriëntatiecommissie overwegen om in plaats van een persoonlijke verschijning voor de auditie een video-opname van je programma toe te staan en het interview via een online platform te laten plaatsvinden.
Mogelijkheid om online auditie te doen Kandidaten in de klassieke muziek kunnen ervoor kiezen om een online video-auditie te doen, als ze niet persoonlijk naar de auditie kunnen komen. Zorg ervoor dat uw video voldoet aan de volgende normen:
- video en audio moeten van behoorlijke kwaliteit zijn ! Let op de akoestiek van uw opname.
- video moet een live-opname zijn waarin de juryleden je duidelijk kunnen zien spelen op je instrument !
- de audio moet de audio van de video-opname zijn. Edits, overdubs, extra mixen ... zijn niet toegestaan.
